Fancy Pine Casket

Made of Michigan knotty pine, our fancy pine casket uses the same design as our hardwood caskets.

The casket has three handhold cutouts on each of the long sides and one on each end, allowing for up to 8 pallbearers. They are held together with traditional joinery, wood pegs and hide glue. We don't use any plywood, metal fixtures or synthetic finishes. The wood is finished with our homemade linseed, tung oil, beeswax and citrus oil finish.

This casket turns into a classy bookcase. The arched top of the casket along with the optional shelves and pedestal make the casket into a bonafide bookcase when up on its end. The lid fits on the back and covers the handholds, so you don't need to figure out where to store it. We have put a lot of thought into this!
