Simple Pine Casket

Built with knotty pine lumber from Michigan's upper peninsula, our pine caskets are simple but well built.

This casket turns into a classy bookcase. The arched top of the casket along with the optional shelves and pedestal make the casket into a bonafide bookcase when up on its end. The lid fits on the back so you don't need to figure out where to store it. We have put a lot of thought into this!

Speaking of the bookcase option, if you choose the cut-outs for handles, the lid fits over them and makes it less casket-like. On the other hand, if you want ropes for handles, you can pull them in to make them look more tidy while it is in bookshelf mode. We also offer this model with the more traditional rails option. This casket would make a nice storage bench. All of our caskets are held together with traditional joinery, wood pegs and hide glue. We don't use any metal fasteners or fixtures.
